Gia was rescued with a displaced jaw and burns on the face, after hit by a car and left to die on the streets for several days in Lebanon. She’s all healed (thanks to her original rescuer, @Rescuing_In_Lebanon) & ready to find her special furever family and go hiking and adventures in the PNW! We have taken over her care, sponsoring her paid foster, serology test and bringing her here to the PNW i
We are a team of two friends rescuing huskies & super mutts from places where they are less likely to be adopted, and find committed & passionate adopters in the Pacific Northwest! My teammate Balram is located in Vancouver, Canada and me (Chanchal) in Seattle, USA.
Even though we can’t help every dog, it’s so rewarding to see the very few dogs we help, flourishing in loving homes 🥰
If you’d like to support our mission, you can share our adoptable dogs with serious adopters, and follow & support the organizations that helped their happily-ever-after journey.
Adoption process usually involves virtual and in person meet & greet, application form, reference checks, and an adoption contract. Please note adoption isn’t confirmed until a contract is signed, even if all of these steps checks out.
We charge an adoption fee of USD 350-400 (CAD 500-600) to make sure they go to good homes.
The fees will be used to pay towards some of their expenses. To name a few for dogs coming from Lebanon - international flight, titer tests and CDC facility & boarding fees, other expenses after arriving here, such as local transportation, foster care and veterinary checkup, additional vaccinations. We also sponsor boarding, medical care for some dogs while they are in Lebanon waiting for their turn to travel.
And for dogs from Cali kill shelters in the US - we cover spay/neuter for dogs who aren’t neutered by the shelter, any boarding fees in LA, road transport to here, and rescue transfer fee to some local Cali rescues who tags the dog for us (you can only pull a shelter dog in person, or work with a local rescue to tag the dog on your behalf).
All our dogs are seen by a local veterinarian and either fecal tests done or put on monthly dewormer before adopted out. The expenses we take on to help a single dog typically ranges anywhere from $1000-$3000, huge variables being means of transport and extra medical care.
We are full time Engineers and funds our mission ourselves when we can afford it, just to get these huskies to well deserving forever homes. We also run fundraisers at times, when we are too low on rescue budget. Sometimes, our friends have graciously sponsored dogs trips too. We typically budget for rescuing 2-3 dogs a year, and hope to continue so.
Each of the dogs we choose to help are so precious to us! We also stay friends with all our adopters and meet up every once in a while. We benefit nothing more than the rewarding experience of getting a beautiful pup to a well deserving forever family and watch them live the best life!☺
We appreciate any donations to the rescues/shelters in Lebanon where our dogs come from. We support a few huskies at these rescues, but they have more dogs waiting for a forever family as well as monthly sponsors, and some dogs have high medical needs.
Please also donate to these partner rescues in southern California, who pull the dog from the local high-kill shelters for us, care for them in a safe place until they can be transported up north to us.
It was in 2019 that I came across a sweet husky named Heidi rescued from the streets of Lebanon by Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter. Being a mom to two huskies, I was so touched by Heidi’s story and desperately wanted to help her find a home in the US. With no experience with doing rescue work or foster, I found it hard to help her. Thankfully, someone else fell in love with her and she got adopted and flew to Canada.
I was eager to make use of the experience I gained with the breed to find suitable homes in the US. Finally, in Dec 2020, my husband Bobby & I brought our first rescue to the US, a husky mix boy named Ghost (now Remy). Also our first foster! We planned his flight travel to California, and Bobby made a road trip to pick him up and bring to Washington. We got the help of a rescue here in Washington state to do his adoption process.
We continued to rescue more doggos during our free time. With the help of our two fur boys, we cared for them at our home, and sometimes at friends who are experienced with dogs. We also got the dogs started on basic obedience training, provided any needed veterinary care and rehomed them to passionate and committed adopters in Washington state! Then one day, we met Balram who shared the same passion to help the huskies, and in 2021 we started doing adoptions in British Columbia.
